The Stay Amazing Show
Episode 24 - Victoria C. Canez

Episode 24 - Victoria C. Canez

December 25, 2020

In this very special episode, I sit down with my mother, Victoria C. Canez, who just turned 92 years young! That's right! Ninety Two!!

In this fascinating conversation we talk about family history, the neighborhood she grew up in, how they found ways to entertain themselves, nine people living without electricity and running water in a one room adobe shack growing up, her history of giving back and being there for her family and the community and her health scare earlier this year.

My mother is a very strong woman. And even at 92, she is still mentally sharp, a little slower than she once was, but still willing to help out in any way she can. She is an amazing lady and I am extremely fortunate to have her and my late father as role models. Without them, the whole Amazing concept and Movement would not exist. I know you'll love this episode.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a safe and glorious 2021!

Episode 23 - Jerry Salas - Musician and Covid 19 Survivor

Episode 23 - Jerry Salas - Musician and Covid 19 Survivor

December 17, 2020

You rarely hear the media talk about individuals who have contracted Covid-19 and have survived. The majority of news outlets only tell you the numbers of new cases and the numbers of those who have passed away. Today's guest is one of those survivors.

Jerry Salas is resilient and a man of faith. He is a musician, a Vietnam Vet, has survived prostate cancer and most recently spend 48 days in ICU fighting the Covid-19 virus. He survived that battle even after spending 40 days in a coma. In this episode Jerry talks about his experience, the support he received from his family, fans and the brave doctors and nurses who cared for him.

Jerry has also been with his band, El Chicano, since the mid '70's touring the world, releasing amazing music like "Tell Her She's Lovely" and also working on his own music projects. One of which being the non-profit organization, Rock For Vets. He shares some great stories including his connection with Burton Cummings of the Guess Who, some unreleased music that needs to see the light of day, playing in front of 100,000 plus fans and the effect music has on an audience.

We'd like to than musicians Joey Navarro and Rene Camacho for putting us in touch with Jerry. It was one of those conversations that I know everyone will enjoy.
